About The Event
The Crescent City Film Festival is produced by students at Loyola University New Orleans each year. This 3-day festival strives to bridge communication channels between divided areas using a diverse range of voices, creating an inclusive, and welcoming community for creators. Both students and emerging filmmakers who have created 3 or fewer feature films and 5 or fewer shorts from the regions listed are encouraged to submit their work. The organization states: “CCFF is committed to uplifting independent cinema and filmmakers of the widely diverse American South. We are dedicated to supporting and legitimizing low-budget, experimental, and DIY films, especially those made by marginalized directors and first-time Filmmakers. Crescent City Film festival is an open, accessible forum for artists yet unseen.”
Competition categories include short films (limited to 45 minutes), feature films (between 45 and 90 minutes long), and music videos. Awards are determined by audience choice and festival jury. There will also be a panel of filmmakers for Q&As. THE FINAL DEADLINE TO SUBMIT IS April 1, 2023
